More than a week has gone by already! there has been some good things along the way... Just south of Auckland on the coast, Cathedral cove and hot water beach were pretty cool, then Roturua even though we did not get to do the diner with the Maori people like I really wanted to do (sorry Janice, we had a little planning and booking in advance issue there :() then Napier and the art deco week end was really good (thanks Diana for recommending that!) We are now in Wellington that we'll be visiting tomorrow! and we'll be crossing to the South Island on Tuesday.
We are now looking more and more like homeless people leaving out of the trunk of their car. As we go along we "gear" up for the cabins that really have nothing there. Last buy: a duvet! because it is getting seriously cold and most places don't provide any sort of covers (bearing in mind that we are going for the cheap cabins if possible!) NZ$40 is the cheapest! so now we have a sheet from the dollar shop and a duvet from Kmart, some plastic forks and plates and cups and we find meals ideas that don't need any cooking time when nothing is provided! all good fun! Tonight was pita bread with roasted chicken from the shop and avocados and capsicums.... pretty yummy considering! this way of traveling presents its challenges specially with Malo but it is all good fun and we are loving it!
On Malo's front, he had his first burger made by Sam obviously, his first ice-cream (a big chunk of mine) and he is pretenting to talk but everything just sounds the same (expect for papa and maman) but at least he is trying!
More news in English later.
